Ever since Too Faced announced the new Sweet Peach palette on their Instagram I knew I’ll have get my hand on it! I’m a big fan of Too Faced palettes, I think they’re beautiful, the quality is great and they’re just a pleasure to work with. So as a beauty junkie who is obsessed with eyeshadow palettes it was written in the sky that I will own the Sweet Peach palette. Unfortunately this palette sold out pretty much instantly, it took me quite some time to find it online, bought it from eBay (for twice the price!) and finally received it 3 weeks ago!Of course it’s beautiful, of course the packaging is adorable, yes it smells heavenly, and considering it’s Too Faced the quality should be spot on right? But Is the sweet peach palette really worth the hype?
As usual Too Faced went all out with the packaging. Just like the chocolates bars, the sweet peach pallet is made of sturdy metal. It is embossed small peaches on top and has a beautiful ombre effect. The palette comes in a cardboard box which included a small guide with three different eye looks created with the Sweet Peach palette. Inside the palette you have a small mirror (no brush), 18 eyeshadows with different finishes and when you open it you are greeted by a nice a peach-y scent which is actually very pleasant although it’s more like a peach sweets then fresh peaches.
Most eyeshadows are well pigmented, blend easily, and last a good 10h on the lid ( with the help of a primer). However I must say that some shades are a bit disappointing and do not deliver the pay off I was hoping for. In general the overall quality of the eyeshadows is very good but not excellent, I was left a bit underwhelmed by some of them.
So is the sweet peach palette really worth the hype? If you want my honest opinion, I don’t think so. For a palette called “Sweet Peach” I would have thought there would be more peachy shades. I wish there would be 2, 3 more shades that actually represent peach a bit more, something coral or orange maybe. While I appreciate the versatility of the palette and amount of possible different looks you can create with it. There’s no unique colours. You can find those shimmery bronze shades in every other Too Faced palette. I do like the purples and the olive green but I wish they were higher quality though.
First row: White Peach, Luscious, Just Peachy, Bless Her Heart, Tempting, Charmed, I’m Sure
Second row: Nectar, Cobbler, Candied Peach, Bellini, Peach Pit, Delectable
Tird row: Peaches ‘N cream, Georgia, Caramelized, Puree, Summer Yum, Talk Derby To Me
I do think it is a nice palette I can totally understand why it is a must have for all of us eyeshadows junkie. But if you’re just wondering if you ” absolutely need” this palette cause everyone can’t spot raving about it, I’d say you can easily skip it, especially considering the fact that it is sold it and the only place you can probably find it is on eBay (for a ridiculously high price… I’ve paid mine 120$…). I was expecting to be wowed by the quality of the eyeshadows but I wasn’t, I have to say I was more impressed by the Morphe 35O palette which costs much less and has twice as much eyeshadows.
I wish I could say that I highly recommend the Sweet Peach palette, but considering good review I have heard and read about it, I think the expectations were very high and I feel like the palette leaves me unsatisfied. On the other hand, I’m happy to have it in my collection, it’s beautiful, and by all means go for it, if you really want it and can afford it, but don’t expect the Sweet Peach palette to be the holy grail of eyeshadow palettes.
Have you tried it? What is your opinion on the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette? Do you agree with me or not? Let me know in the comment section below.
