Strobing tutorial featuring Anastasia Beverly Hills That Glow Kit

It’s no big new to any one, strobing is the new fancy way of saying highlighting. I’ve been obsessed with glowing, radiant looks lately and I feel like the “fresh glowy skin” look is so “in” for spring and summer! I wanted to show you all exactly how I achieve it with a strobing tutorial featuring the Anastasia Beverly Hills That Glow Kit (which is one of my favourite to use).

Last December Anastasia Beverly Hills launched this amazing palette which contains four metallic powder highlighter. Depending of your skin tone you can choose between the Gleam Kit (fair-to-medium) and That Glow Kit (medium-to-dark).

What I love about this palette is that the four powder highlighters are all very finely milled and have an intense colour payoff that leaves an airbrushed finish. The formula is so smooth, buttery, and extremely pigmented, so a little goes a long way! The quality of this product is just so incredible, and I found the shade range of this palette to have the perfect golden undertone which compliments my skin tone and leaves me that fresh luminous look.

Sunburst: A bright, luminous gold with a metallic finish.
Dripping in Gold: A lavish gold with a vivid reflective finish.
Golden Bronze: A sultry, warm bronze with a gold-flecked finish.

Bubbly: A champagne rose with a pearlescent finish.

On to the tutorial now,
Strobing, for those of you who don’t know, is basically highlighting the high points of your face so, what I did on this picture is;

  • Apply my primer on a clean an moisturized face.
  • Apply my foundation, concealer, and blush as usual.
  • I used a fan brush lightly dused Sunburst onto cheekbones, apples of cheeks, and with a blusher brush,I gently buffed Bubbly onto cheekbones, and apples of cheeks.
  • Then I used Bubbly in the inner corner of my eyes to really make them pop.
  • Then I used a mix of Sunburst and Dripping in Gold down the bridge of my nose, cupid’s bow, and brow bone.
  • Then to finish off I use Golden Bronze in a “3” shape contouring way, so on my forehead, cheek bones, and jaw line.

Other products used:
I did contour my nose (because I like contouring my nose) with Kat Von D Shade + Light Face Palette (review here) but didn’t contour anything else, ore used any bronzer.

Hope you found this helpful, keep in mind that there’s no right or wrong way to do this, (en the end it is Highlighting) so do what ever feels good to you! Let me know what are your favourite Highlighting products, and what are your thoughts on this strobing technique in the comment section below

Love, Helene Xx
