October literally went by in a blink of an eye. It brought so much happiness, and a couple of challenges! As much as I’m not a fan of the weather (cold and rainy aren’t really my cup of tea), this month I have challenged myself to really go out of my comfort zone, and try new things and boy oh boy it was a bit terrifying but I really gave me the creative boost I needed! Let’s jump in the monthly favourites shall we!
Kat Von D Mida Vida Loca Remix Palette: *Angel singing sounds* I think it’s safe to say that this palette is now part of my top five all time favourite makeup products! I’ve been using it almost every single day! The colours, the formula, the packaging is absolutely amazing! Full review here.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara: I’ve bought the Too Face “Le Grand Palais” set at the beginning of October, and a sample size of this Better Than Sex mascara was included in the set. Don’t know why I didn’t try this sooner! I absolutely love this mascara! I still love Benefit’s Roller Lash mascara, but this one is slowly but surely taking over my heart… Will definitely buy a full size on my next trip to Sephora!
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil (in Damned): If you guys can recall, this was part of my Autumn Beauty Wish List. I was very impressed with this product, it applies amazingly, it’s matte but not drying, and I LOVE this color (I wear it pretty much all the time)!
Ole Henriksen The Clean Truth Cleansinh Cloths-Brightening: Let’s be honest, sometimes I’ m just too lazy to wash my Makeup Eraser! These cloths from Ole Henriksen are truly incredible. From the smell to the smoothness, these wipes literally make me feel so fresh. These wipes are AMAZING to remove makeup, any excess dirt, oil or product on your face.
I love Bath & Body Works candles. They always have the perfect scent for every moment/mood/season. Autumns and Leaves have been my 2 favourite scent this month! It’s hard to describe scent. It’s kind of like describing color, so I’ll try my best.
Autumn: it’s warm but not too strong, I can really smell the cedarwood, it reminds me of leaves and sweaters mainly! It really is the smell of autumn! The candle itself burns really nicely, and although not that noticeable at first when you walk back into the room with the candle you can really smell the difference!
Leaves: it has this crisp, fresh and spicy scent which I think is a unique combination. It’s fruity with a nice combination of spices, making for a more complex scent. Burning this candle reminds me of the middle of fall, when the colors are still vibrant and the air is cool. Would highly recommend picking up for the Autumn season!
special effects makeup is a big passion of mine. I did this thing on Snapchat where I was doing a different kind of “Halloween” makeup everyday. I had so much fun doing this “Hallo-week”! I’m planing on doing more SFX makeup in a near future (maybe once a week or so). If you are interested to see all my crazy stuff, I’ve created a board on Pinterest named The Gore & The Beautiful, I’ll be posting pictures there!
So that’s it for The October favourite! Hope you enjoyed it, and find it helpful!
Love, Helene Xx
