Makeup for sick days

Makeup for sick days

When we are sick we would love nothing more than just stay in bed and sleep the day away. Unfortunately there’s going to be days where we are going to have to go out (for work or to school). If you follow me on snapchat (at OsbieBeauty) you know that I have been sick with a cold for the past 2 weeks. My nose is blocked, I’m exhausted, and I have the worst voice ever! The one thing that I hate more than being sick is looking sick, so I figured I would show you guys my Makeup for sick days routine.

After taking a hot shower and drinking my tea, I start my makeup by using a primer. Here I’m using Smashbox Photo finish Foundation Light primer. This silky blend of vitamins and antioxidants helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores for visibly softer skin. Plus it is a 60% water based primer, so it also helps my skin to stays hydrated trough out the day.

Then I use my new Lock-it tattoo  foubdation form Kat Von D to “create the perfect canvas”. When I’m sick I feel like I’m super pale, I have the darkest circles under my eyes, and this foundation helps me to cover up any dull skin and gives me that little extra “oomph”! If you want to read my full review on this foundation click here.

Moving on to concealer I use my Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer right underneath my eyes, forehead, and on my chin (basically anywhere that needs to be brighten up). Drawing a reverse triangle shape underneath my eyes, and blending it with my Beautyblender, I focus on the dark ring and make sure it is covered up properly. To set my concealer I use my Makeup Forever HD powder.

For highlight and contour I’m using my Shade and Light contours palette. To give some colours back into my face I contour my nose, jaw line and temples with Shadowplay, and highlight my forehead, cheek, and brow bones with Lyric. I also use it underneath my eyes the yellow colour helps to give that extra brightness.

Moving on to blush I’m using this Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush by Tarte in Blushing Bride which is a lovely plumy rose.

For the eyes I’m using the Venus: The Grunge palette by Lime Crime. I high lit the inner corner of my eyes with the shade Aura. It really helps brighten up and open up your tired eyes ( I use it on my cupid’s bow as well). To add a little dimension into my eyes I’m using the shade Muse. With this eyeshadow palette a little bit goes a long way so you just have to use the tiniest bit (we are not doing a dramatic look here we just want to add some dimension to the eyes) The mascara I’m using is the Better Than Sex Mascara by Too Faced (full review here), again it helps to open up my eyes, and I just love the doll like lashes look of it. To finish off this look I’m using Lovecraft from Kat Von D which is a matte mauve pink nude. For a complete review on the Studded Kiss Lipsticks collection click here.

So that’s how I achieved my makeup for sick days, I definitely fell a lot more awake and ready to conquer my day (although I still got the sniffles). Hope you have enjoyed this post and let me know what are your beauty tricks for sick day in the comments section below!
