If there’s one makeup product every girl should have in her makeup bag it’s mascara. Whenever I can’t be bothered doing a full face of make up (especially in summer) I’ll put on a little lipgloss and mascara and that’s it. It’s just enough to make me feel like my face is put together. You all probably know that Kat Von D is on of my favourite makeup brand ever, and I thought I would do a little review on one of my favourite mascara (aside from Too Faced Better Then Sex mascara, full review here) the Kat Von D Immortal Lash 24 Hour Mascara.
Kat Von D Immrortal Lash 24 Hour Mascara is like it’s name says supposed to be a 24 hour wear mascara (why do we even need to wear mascara for 24 hours is my question) with a voluminzing formula. This has a power spiral brush that lengthens, curls, and coats lashes in a super black pigmented formula.
The silicone brush is supposed to be modeled after a the thorned stem of a rose. The three-in-one design is a unique spiked stem that curls and coats each lash from root to end while the spiral bristles comb through lashes for intense definition. I find the spiraled spikes along the wand to be great for regular application and combing through lashes. The spiked ball at the very tip is great for coating the outer and inner lashes easily to achieve that wispy signature Kat Von D lash look. The brush is a little intimidating at first, but it allows total control and makes application fool-proof.
The formula is a rather thick cream that is lightweight, so it doesn’t weight your lashes down. This mascara coats lashes evenly and leaves them feeling soft and flexible throughout wear. It did lengthen and curl lashes nicely, but I saw no added volume. While this mascara didn’t separate lashes, it didn’t clump them together either – that is unless you’re applying a second coat. Layering this mascara over itself once dry causes your lashes to look more clumpy, especially towards the base.
The pigmentation is decent; while lashes are left looking black, it’s not the ultra black that it claims to have. There are definitely darker, most intense and highly-pigmented mascara options out there.
This mascara is not waterproof and lasted +7 hours before losing most of it’s curl and +10 hours before flakes of mascara could be found under my eyes – which falls short of their 24 hour claim ( but then again why do we even need to wear mascara for 24h straight).
For my lashes, this formula is a definite win! If you like a defined look with a ton of length, then I think you’ll love this mascara. This is definitely one of my go-to mascara mascara for everyday wear (I prefer something that gives a bit more volume when I go out). The brush can be a bit intimidating at first, but once you’ll get pass that you’ll be amazed by the quality of this product.
